Operations Executive (The Big Leagues x Hunch)
Role Overview
As an Operations Executive, you will be the heartbeat of our sports prediction platform. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our prediction events – from the moment a match is scheduled to the final settlement of results.
Beyond daily operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product by analysing business needs, bridging stakeholder communication, and defining the requirements that drive platform improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Operations & Integrity
- Event Management: Accurately upload and configure upcoming sports fixtures, ensuring all inputs, timelines, and metadata are correct.
- Live Scoring & Settlement: Monitor live sports data to ensure timely scoring of predictions and prompt distribution of rewards/results to users.
- Quality Control: Perform daily audits of the platform to identify and fix any data discrepancies or broken links.
2. Product Strategy & UX Mapping
- User Journey Mapping: Visualize and document the end-to-end experience for new and power users to identify friction points.
- Requirements Gathering: Translate operational pain points and user feedback into detailed functional requirements for the engineering and design teams.
- UAT Testing: Participate in User Acceptance Testing for new features to ensure they meet the described operational standards.
3. Business Analysis & Product Requirements
- Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders across operations, product, and engineering to elicit, analyse, and prioritise business needs — producing clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- User Journey Mapping: Visualise and document the end-to-end experience for new and power users, identifying friction points and translating them into actionable business insights.
- Process Analysis & Improvement: Continuously review internal workflows and platform processes, identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions that improve scalability and operational performance.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood, documented, and delivered against – facilitating reviews, walkthroughs, and sign-off sessions as needed.
4. Research, Insight & Performance Analysis
- Site Performance Monitoring: Regularly review platform analytics and performance metrics to track user behaviour, engagement trends, and drop-off points — turning data into clear recommendations for the product team.
- User Research & Feedback Analysis: Gather and synthesise qualitative and quantitative customer feedback through surveys, support interactions, and session tools such as Hotjar – using heatmaps, session recordings, and funnel analysis to understand how users are truly experiencing the platform.
- Competitor & Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing analysis of competitor platforms and broader market trends, benchmarking our product against industry standards and identifying opportunities to differentiate and improve the user experience.
